HAYER CELEBRATES YEAR OF THE DRAGON
SURREY – Tynehead MLA Dave S. Hayer sends
best wishes and congratulations to all who
celebrate the Lunar New Year, which this year
in the Chinese calendar is the Year of the
Dragon.
“This year we look forward to a year of great
hope, optimism and prosperity according to
the Year of the Dragon,” said Hayer. “It has
been great to see this celebration embraced
by people of all nationalities and I believe
that this sort of optimistic look to our future
bodes well for the whole province.”
“We have much to be grateful for, and this
year promises much to look forward to,” added
the MLA.
“We have a very strong and vibrant Asian community
in British Columbia, and these celebrations
are just one small part of the importance
we place on our cultural diversity that makes
B.C. so great,” said Hayer.
In addition to recognizing the Lunar New Year
here, Hayer will be travelling to Asia in
the coming weeks to celebrate the event in
its homeland, as well as further encourage
the great benefits of trade between British
Columbia and Asian countries.
“While in Asia I will be making it very clear
that not only do we look forward to stronger
relationships between our countries, but also
a continued strong and dynamic relationship
with members of the Asian community who have
contributed greatly to British Columbia’s
success throughout the entire history of our
province,” noted Hayer.
