CELEBRATE OUR PROVINCE ON B.C. DAY
SURREY – Surrey-Tynehead MLA and Parliamentary
Secretary for Multiculturalism Dave S. Hayer
is urging all British Columbians, and particularly
those who have only recently chosen our province
as their new home, to celebrate B.C. Day on
Monday, August 2.
"This has been an especially wonderful year
to celebrate the good things that happen in
our great province,” said Hayer. “We held
the overwhelmingly successful Olympic and
Paralympic Winter Games here in February,
and showed the world what we can all do together.
“British Columbia is one of the most ethnically
diverse regions in the world, and the celebration
of the winter games highlighted, that regardless
of race, colour, creed or ethnicity, we are
all one in this province,” explained Hayer.
“ I urge everyone on Monday to celebrate again
in the same Olympic spirit the wonders of
this province – its scenery, its abundance
of nature, its progress and its people – and
to come together as one on this day of recognition
that B.C. truly is the best place on earth
to live, work, play, raise a family and create
a future.”
